We focus on photography and art pertaining to fynbos, but all those with an active interest in fynbos and matters related to fynbos are welcome to join.

This gallery is arranged by family and genus so it provides a valuable resource for those trying to learn more about fynbos botany. One can quickly get a sense of what common characteristics distinguish each of the families and genera by browsing through the albums.

Flowers to look out for during this month of August

Disperis Capensis
(Moederkappie)
This little orchid is common and
is a favourite among fynbos watchers.
Look carefully - it is easily missed.


Aponogeton distachis
(Waterblom)
Permanent and temporary
water is home to this attractive
flower which makes a delicious
stew


Moraea flaccida(Cape tulip)
Previously called Homeria this pretty
flower brightens road and hillsides
